FACT SHEET

The movie has a multiracial international cast from China, India, Slovakia, Turkey, Nederland and the USA.

Stefano Spadoni created and directed this unconventional produced movie where actors never interact (meet, talk, hear or see each other), and only interface with the director. Over 97% of this movie was shot in this way. Stefano Spadoni never met any actor in person and directed the entire movie remotely.

The technical concept of the movie was created by Stefano Spadoni during the Covid19 pandemic as a way to still shoot movies, while having actors and director not being able to meet each other in person.

In addition, Stefano Spadoni put in place the “modular structure” that makes the movie like a recombination game.

Some actors were fully filmed remotely (including their vertical videos), others were filmed directly by Jason Paluck and the crew in New York, with Stefano Spadoni always directing remotely.

The movie has been structured in a way that actors could be shot individually.

The movie “Killer Girls” portrays only women, even if men are mentioned as accessories to the story-line. Stefano Spadoni wrote the script on purpose in that way.

TRIVIA

Ayca Varlier, who portrays the detective Emma Riverdale, had always the dream to impersonate a police officer in a movie.

Wiletzie Sanchez (Juliet) recorded all her video calls by herself after having received instruction by Stefano Spadoni.

Following Stefano Spadoni's direction, Denise Jeng Kwong (Stella) recorded all her video calls without interacting with the other actors including Michaela Vybohova (Leah). She met her just for filming the two short necessary scenes to further the plot.

The encounter between Denise Jeng Kwong (Stella) and Michaela Vybohova (Leah) was filmed in New York near the Vessel, the staircase to nowhere, a symbolism related to the movie plot.

While Jason Paluck is an US born New Yorker, Stefano Spadoni was born, studied and lived in Italy before moving to the USA.

Stefano Spadoni, who supervised the casting chose the leads from more than 4,000 applicants and 800 requested auditions. The goal was to select actors who could fully identify and enjoy playing the controversial characters. Before the shooting, he spent hours rehearsing with each selected actor, making sure that they understood the psychology behind the characters.
